Calling all anime lovers!

Otaku Fest returned this past weekend to unite comic, cosplay and gaming fans across South Florida and beyond.

This year’s guests definitely honed in on Hazbin Hotel and HelluvaBoss fans with Erika Henningsen(Charlie Morningstar), Amir Talai(Alastor), Krystina Alabado(Cherry Bomb) and Blake Roman(Angel Dust). But many other notable voice actors made an appearance such as Bryson Baugus(Haikyu!!), Derick Snow(My Hero Academia!), Stephanie Young(One Piece) and more.

At Otaku Fest you could sign for celebrity autographs and selfies, Q&A’s and attend fan panels. I attended Blake Roman’s panel on voice acting where participants could sign up to have their voice acting skills put to review.

The festival featured an array of events including costume contests, a masquerade/performance contest, fashion shows, fan meet-ups, and costuming workshops.

The Cafe Floris Maid Cafe made a stunning return to Otaku this year, serving treats and providing a one of a kind experience.

For the gaming and table top fans you could enjoy Pokemon League, TCG Tournaments, and more.

The Manga Library presented by Miami-Dade Public Library System was a lovely escape from the overwhelming hustle and bustle of the merch hall. Viewing rooms playing different animes, movies and more also providing a retreat.

Otaku Fest also featured a variety of shows and contests such as the Hit The Stage: KPOP Dance Contest, Hot Debut: 18+ KPOP Show and Magic City Idol Fest.

Unique to this convention, Otaku Fest featured a 18+ comedy show put on by Dade County Comedy.

And even karaoke - where you can sing as your cosplay. DJ Anim8ted kept the energy high, ensuring everyone had a fantastic time.

If you’re passionate about anime, cosplay, gaming, and more, make sure to add Otaku Fest to your must-visit list for next year.
