South Florida is lighting up for the holidays with a series of after-dark attractions and family events across the region! From lantern festivals to nighttime wildlife experiences, residents have several ways to enjoy the season...

The Palm Beach Zoo has kicked off its annual Zoo Lights event, running on select nights from November 21 through January 4. The zoo remains open after dark, featuring eco-friendly light displays, holiday music, and a 24-foot animated tree. Guests can walk the pathways, enjoy cocoa, and watch the coordinated light shows. Zoo Lights is presented by FPL.

In Loxahatchee, Lion Country Safari is debuting a new experience: Lanterns and Lights Safari Nights. The event runs through January and includes more than 60 illuminated lantern exhibits, ranging from wildlife scenes to a prehistoric area. Visitors can explore the park at night, sample seasonal food and drinks, and meet Santa on select dates.

New holiday light-up lanterns now on display in The Palm Beaches Mounts Ilumina has entered the chat.

West Palm Beach is also joining the lineup with ILUMINA at Mounts Botanical Garden. The tropical lantern festival features more than 500 handmade lanterns shaped like plants and animals, along with a 195-foot dragon spanning the lake. ILUMINA runs Wednesdays through Sundays through January 11.

Farther south, Jungle Island in Miami has brought back its Luminosa festival. The attraction covers 13 acres with large-scale lantern installations inspired by the Amazon, Ancient Egypt, the savannah, and a Frozen Kingdom. Notable displays include a 43-foot dragon, the Jaguar’s Temple, and oversized animal lanterns built with LED lights and steel frames.
