WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (SOUTH FLORIDA DAILY) -
One in 300 youngsters has a detectable heart condition and 80 percent of youth have no symptoms at all prior to a sudden cardiac arrest. The numbers highlight a critical health issue among young people.
That’s why GOLDLAW and Who We Play For are teaming to host a free heart screening event on Saturday, February 21. The event takes place at the Westgate Parks and Recreation Center in West Palm Beach from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event aims to screen hundreds of young people ages 10 to 25 and emphasizes education and awareness can save a life.
A grant from the Florida Department of Health makes the entire event completely free for the local community.
