A cooking class with a purpose: learn how food impacts your mental being through a new interactive experience

Mood Food Classes at the Amrit Ocean Resort with Dr. Uma Naidoo A new wellness club is making waves in South Florida.

On the penthouse of the beautiful Amrit Ocean Resort, you can experience Dr. Uma Naidoo’s unique “Mood Food Cooking Experience”, where she teaches guests how to cook meals she has crafted to support your mood and mental well being.

Naidoo, a Harvard trained nutritional psychiatrist and professional chef, framed the class around the gut-brain connection and encouraged attendees to think about food as more than weight gain or weight loss.

She said many people feel intimidated by cooking, so she writes recipes to stay simple, flexible, and easy to repeat at home all while still delivering big flavor through spices and fresh herbs.

Guests will arrive to a welcome setup before moving into individual cooking stations with tools and ingredients ready to go. The experience also lets guests sip biodynamic wine while they cook and then sit down to eat the finished meal together.

The ticket package includes a copy of Naidoo’s book This Is Your Brain on Food, plus take home items such as a mixer and apron, along with valet parking.
