A popular local snack took the spotlight on South Florida Daily as host, Megan Hayes welcomed Chelsea Williams, CEO of FROPRO, to share the story behind the South Florida founded snack bar.
The snack bar is not only delicious but it’s also mission based. The company began with her husband, Matt, who started making the bar in 2011 and officially launched the business in 2013, during the early days of his sobriety journey. Matt committed to recovery, fitness, and wellness, and began mixing the snack in their kitchen as a healthier snack option.
One of FROPRO’s selling points is its simple ingredient list. Over time, the company has expanded into more fun flavors, including Banana Crunch, Birthday Cake, Cookies & Cream, Vanilla Cream, and the newest Salted Pistachio Crunch.
Williams noted that Salted Pistachio Crunch is now available at Whole Foods across the Southeast. She added the bars are easy to eat on the go and don’t require refrigeration, though they’re best enjoyed chilled.
As the brand has grown, Williams said the bigger purpose has grown with it: FROPRO now employs people in recovery, creating what she described as a safe and fulfilling workplace. With Matt approaches 16 years of sobriety this May, she said the company is proud to use its success to share a message of second chances and help reduce stigma around addiction.
